Welcome to Barefoot Chamber Concerts.  We present short programs of high quality chamber music in an informal setting, with light refreshments.   All programs (60-75 minutes with no intermission) are in the wonderful acoustic of the Parish Hall of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2300 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, and start at 6 p.m. on Fridays.

Our 2009-2010 Season brings you six concerts from very different spheres of chamber music.  With Ostraka, Josh Lee and his colleagues show us the improvisatory and virtuosic side of the viol.  Kathy Perl and Janet See play the Bach flute sonatas and more.  Hallifax & Jeffrey return with 2 programs, one featuring English viol duos, and another showcasing French music for 3 and 4 viols with guests Marie Dalby and Josh Lee.   Violinist Cynthia Miller Freivogel treats us to unaccompanied Bach.  Quaver, not your parents’ viol consort, plays new and old music in “Yesterday’s Tomorrow.”

Tickets will be $15 at the door (Students, Seniors and SFEMS members $13), ages 18 and under admitted free.  We encourage you to buy tickets online; all online tickets are $3 less than the door price.   If you click the link next to the description of the concert for which you’d like to buy tickets, you will arrive at the BrownPaperTickets (fabulous efficient easy online “fair trade ticket service”) site for that particular concert.  You can pay by credit card on their secure site and then BPT can snail-mail you the tickets or we’ll hold them for you at will-call at the door.
